Golf

Varanger is the home to Norway's northernmost golf course. You can play a round here while enjoying the views over the Arctic Ocean and the Varanger Fjord. You can even play a round under the midnight sun, as the course is open 24 hours a day.

Sandmo Golf Course has 9 holes and is the only golf course in Finnmark which is "sloped" (it is approved for competitions and use of the handicap system). The course goes through wood and parkland and has demanding holes for both novices and experts alike. The greens are a combination of fake grass and natural grass of a quite unique type, but it is of a high standard. The course is in Kariel, 15 km west of Vadsø.
