Finnmarksløpet

Finnmarksløpet is the northernmost dogsledge race in the world and the longest in Europe. The race takes place throughout the county of Finnmark and weary but eager dogs can be seen racing their way over the open mountain plateaus.

On March 17th 2010, the participants will stop at Varager Samisk Museum, which acts as a checkpoint. Here they will take a break, get something to eat and take a well-earned rest. The museum will be open for visitors all day long. This is a fantastic and spectacular event which the world's press follows closely. See Finnmarksløpet's website for more details.
